HELENA — The Class B boys and girls state basketball tournaments will move to the Belgrade Special Events Center in March, the Montana High School Association announced Wednesday after its annual Executive Board meeting.
The tournament has been at Brick Breeden Fieldhouse in Bozeman for two years and scheduled to be there again in March, but a scheduling conflict with Montana State University women's basketball forced the change.
Also at the meeting, the board approved participation requests for six schools for football: Harlowton-Ryegate, Hobson-Moore-Judith Gap, Box Elder, West Yellowstone, Ekalaka and Thompson Falls.
Harlowton-Ryegate and Box Elder will drop from 8-Man to 6-Man. Hobson-Moore-Judith Gap will remain in 6-Man. West Yellowstone and Ekalaka will move up to 8-Man from 6-Man. And Thompson Falls is dropping from Class B to 8-Man.
The board also approved realignments within each class for Class AA, Class A, Class B Western Division and Class C Eastern Division (volleyball).
