HAMILTON - The Frenchtown softball team struck early, scoring three runs in the opening inning en route to a 4-1 Southwestern A road win over Hamilton on Friday.

Frenchtown loaded the bases out of the gate, setting up Sarah Lester to knock in all three base runners with a single up the middle.

Hurler Abby Indreland led Frenchtown, scattering six hits, striking out five and walking a pair to earn the win. She improved to 7-0 on the season and added two singles and an RBI.

Keller Leishman chipped in two hits for Frenchtown, which improved to 6-0 in league and 13-2 overall.

Hamilton's lone run came in the seventh off a Melissa Hood single.

Candice Dunagan added two singles for Hamilton.

At Libby, the Western AA Wolfpack received a pair of RBIs from Sabrina Kenfield and blanked Northwestern A Libby.

Abby Connolly singled twice and had an RBI for Glacier and Lyndsey Hoffenbacker finished 2-for-4.

Jessie Compton (4-2) pitched a complete-game, four-hitter for the Wolfpack.

Alyssa Walker was 2-for-3 for the Loggers.

At Anaconda, the Blue Devils scored two runs in the top of the seventh to catapult in front and take a Southwestern A win over the Copperheads.

Megan Auch doubled, singled twice and batted in a pair of runs to lead Corvallis. Alex Ewing earned the win and chipped in two hits.

Korey Krumm had a triple and Vanessa Jense added two singles for Anaconda, which had taken a 2-1 lead in the fifth.

At Butte, the Maroons pounded out 10 hits and held off Corvallis in the seventh for a non-league win.

Angela Piazzola went 3-for-4 and Katie Hogart collected a two-run home run to lead Butte Central. Taylor Svejkovsky and Jessie LeProwse each added two hits.

Alex Ewing was 3-for-3 with a double and Korie Conder had three RBIs for Corvallis.

At Florence, the Breakers used a four-run third inning to take control and hang on for a Western B-C victory over the Falcons in a makeup game.

Alex Hughes had the big bat for Loyola, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, while Kari Tirrell added a pair of singles.

Sarah Goodman claimed the win, giving up 10 hits, walking none and striking out five.

Brittany Heinz had a triple and two singles to lead Florence.

At Troy, Katie McDonald went 4-for-5 to lead the Bulldogs over the Trojans in a Western B-C contest.

St. Ignatius and Troy combined for 30 base hits and the Bulldogs had 18 of those, but only one went for extra bases, a double by McDonald.

St. Ignatius' Dalena Weaselhead chipped in a 3-for-4 day with two runs batted in and teammate Janeal McDonald had three hits.

Kimmy Klin was 3-for-4 with a RBI for Troy (3-6 in league, 4-6 overall).

At Eureka, Thompson Falls scored 10 runs between the second and third innings and the Bluehawks earned the Western B-C win in a game called after five innings due to the 10-run margin rule.

Shelby Swant and Kayla Stark collected two hits apiece for Thompson Falls, which improved to 15-2, 15-2. Eight of nine Bluehawks who saw action had at least one hit.

Kyla Molzhon threw a complete-game, two-hitter for the Bluehawks and boosted her mark to 15-2.

Steph Vogelman and Taylor Linnell each had hits for the Lions.
