PLAINS - Senior pitcher Kyla Molzhon was in all-state form Tuesday afternoon in Thompson Falls' Western B-C softball game with Plains.

Molzhon took care of business on the mound as well as with her bat as the Bluehawks coasted to a 10-0 victory over the Trotters in a game called after five innings.

Batting in the third slot, Molzhon got Thompson Falls on the scoreboard in the top of the first with a two-out solo home run. She added a single in her 2-for-3 afternoon.

Molzhon pushed her record to 13-2 with a complete-game one-hitter. She struck out 14 and walked a pair.

Jackie Pfister gave the Bluehawks a double and an RBI. Shelby Swant and Hannah Peters both singled and finished 1-for-3 with a run driven in for Thompson Falls. The Bluehawks improved to 13-2 in the league and overall.

Plains, which fell to 3-8, 3-8, received a single by Megan Massingale. Karlena Heward allowed just five hits in taking the loss on the mound for the Trotters.

Helena Capital sweeps Hellgate

The Capital Bruins walked away with a pair of Western AA victories over the Knights at the Rattlesnake fields.

Capital claimed the first game 3-1 and the second 5-0. The Knights had four errors in each outing.

In game one, Capital's Angie Boyer broke a 1-1 tie in the fifth with a bases-loaded single that scored two runs. Hellgate's Mac Schultz had tied the game at 1-1 with a solo homer in the fourth.

In the second matchup, Devin McNellis drove in two runs with a single in the fourth. She finished 2-for-4 and Jordan Johnston added two more hits to lead Capital.

Schultz, Sarah Hendricks and Jessa Oullette each singled for the Knights.

At Anaconda, Keller Leishman was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs in the Broncs' Southwestern A win.

Katie Kees doubled and drove in two and Sakai Scheffer and Kayla Bordner also doubled for Frenchtown (5-0, 12-2).

Broncs freshman pitcher Abby Indreland moved to 7-0 by throwing a complete game and allowing 10 hits.

Ali Forkan and Abby Stanberry each had a single and an RBI for the Copperheads (2-2, 4-6).

At Stevensville, the Southwestern A Yellowjackets pushed across a run in the bottom of the eighth to edge Northwestern A Ronan.

Maddie Jones (9-2) threw a complete-game two-hitter for Stevensville, striking out 10 and walking six. She also had a two-run homer, her third of the year, in the fourth that followed a Bailey Vercruyssen double.

Ashlie Larum was 2-for-4 with a double for the Yellowjackets, who improved to 2-9.

Ronan got singles from Bethany Colman and Chelsey Bourdon.

Troy sweeps Deer Lodge

At Plains, Jordan Williams threw two complete games as the Trojans won both halves of a Western B-C twin bill, taking the opener 6-5 and the second game 15-10. The games made up earlier rain-outs.

Kimmy Klin had a double and two RBIs while going 2-for-3 for Troy in the first contest. Breanna Opland was 3-for-3 with a double and Rachel Guther added two singles and one driven in for the Trojans.

Paige Kruzich was 2-for-3 and and Chelsea Micu drove in two runs for the Wardens.

Guther, Alyssa Olds and Ashley Paasch each collected a pair of RBIs for Troy in the late game.

Opland was 3-for-4 with a double and six Trojans had multi-hit games.

Micu was 1-for-4 with two driven in for Deer Lodge.
