Prep soccer: Stevi boys earn first win over Billings Central

BOZEMAN – Joseph Fectau scored two goals and assisted on another as the Stevensville boys’ soccer team scored its first-ever win over Billings Central in a nonconference matchup on Saturday.

Nicholas Jensen got the Jackets on the board in the second minute on an assist from Sam Giese. Giese got the Jackets out of the gates quickly in the second half, scoring in the 41st minute. Fectau then got his first goal in the 65th minute and added an insurance tally in the 76th.

J.J. O’Bannon made four stops to earn the win in net.

Stevensville, 2-2, plays Thursday at Frenchtown.

Helena High 2, Missoula Hellgate 1

At Helena, the Bengals scored on a penalty kick in the 70th minute to pull out the Western AA win over the defending state champs.

Helena led 1-0 at halftime on a goal by Matt Thomas.

Hellgate knotted it in the 50th minute on a penalty kick by Steen Shober.

But Helena’s Isaac Bostrom netted the game-winner 20 minutes later.

Helena was whistled for 17 fouls, compared to five for Hellgate

At Kalispell, Matt Peters netted a penalty kick with just over 11 minutes remaining in the second half to lift the Wolfpack to the crosstown Western AA win.

Tanner Maroney and Jake Lockwood scored first-half goals for Glacier, which received eight saves from Ryker McIntyre and one from Riley O’Neal.

The Braves got goals from Monte White and Caleb Buxton.

Nickol scored in the 13th minute off a feed from Sam Tintinger and Bottonfield added an insurance tally with less than four minutes to play.

Ryan Hauck and T.J. Silivia made two saves apiece in goal for Capital.

Tanner Maier stopped four shots for the Spartans.

Rebarchik, a senior forward, scored back-to-back goals in the first half to put Frenchtown ahead 3-0.

An own goal put the Broncs up 4-0 before the co-op of Loyola Sacred Heart and Valley Christian tallied just before the break.

Baker scored the first goal in the second half and started the scoring with a goal in the 14th minute.
