GILLETTE, Wyo. — The Gillette Wild scored the first two goals of the game, then held off the Missoula Jr. Bruins for a 5-4 win Friday night in an NA3HL hockey game at Spirit Hall Ice Arena.
The Wild moved to 2-1 for the season while Missoula fell to 0-2.
Gillette led 2-0 after the first period on goals from Declan Young and Keedin Denny.
But the teams entered the third period tied at 4-4 after Missoula exploded for four goals in a penalty-filled second period. Henry Morrison, Chase Wilhelm, Connor Frye and Trevor Prince scored for the Jr. Bruins. Young had his third and fourth goals of the young season for the Wild.

Pablo Palos put the Wild ahead 5-4 at 6:08 of the third period and they held on from there.
Seth Daniel made 23 stops in goal for the Bruins.
The same teams will meet in a rematch Saturday at 7 p.m.
