SALT LAKE CITY - Shane Jurasek connected with Nick Lumpkin for three first-quarter touchdowns as the Missoula Phoenix won their second consecutive Rocky Mountain Football League contest Saturday, posting a 54-0 shutout of the Salt Lake City Seminoles.
Lumpkin hauled in TD catches of 32, 23 and 30 yards as the Phoenix raced to a 20-0 advantage with 1:20 to play in the first quarter. Jurasek added a 4-yard scoring strike to Nick Arnold with 17 seconds left in the first half, giving Missoula (5-2) a 41-0 lead at halftime.
Jeff Maynard kicked field goals of 37 and 29 yards in the second half for the Phoenix and was good on six of seven extra-point attempts on the afternoon.
Missoula also put points on the board via a Kent Vargas fumble recovery in the end zone, a 1-yard TD run by Kirby Couvillion and a 38-yard punt return by Tony Sanderson.
The Phoenix visit the rival Bitterroot Blaze to wrap up the regular season Friday.
