HAMILTON - The Class AA Missoula Mavericks pounded the Class A Bitterroot Red Sox 12-0 Wednesday in a non-conference game shortened to six innings because of the 10-run margin rule.
The Mavs' pitching combination of Ryan Martin, Brett Mitchell, Will Thompson, and Brad Waln combined to limit the Red Sox to three hits.
On offense, the Mavs pounded 12 hits. Kris Welker and Will Thompson led the barrage, as both went 3-for-5 with a home run. Casey Cordial added a 2-for-2 performance for Missoula.
Kyle Melton doubled to lead the charge for Bitterroot.
The Mavs see their next action Saturday when they host the Helena Senators in a doubleheader.

Evan Ringel pitched seven strong innings to lead the Class A Bitterroot Bucs to a 9-4 victory over the Class A Missoula Mavericks at Missoula's Lindborg-Cregg Field.
Ringel fanned five and walked two in the contest. Cody Person came on in relief of Ringel and struck out the final two maverick batters to close the game and earn the save. The Bucs improved to 9-1 on the season.
