Chester Leon Field
BUTTE - The angels took Chester Leon Field from his home on Saturday. Chester was born in Mayville, N.D., on Jan. 10, 1928, to Melvin and Lydia (Bodrenko) Field.
Chester grew up in Detroit Lakes, Minn. He moved to Missoula in the early 1970s. Chester was employed by various construction companies and retired from Field Asphalt Service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards - especially pinochle and pan. Chester's family was first and foremost in his life. He was deeply loved and will be sadly missed.
Chester was preceded in death by his parents, sister Margaret Field, brother Allen Field and great-granddaughter Tayler Thomas.
He is survived by his wife, Christina Field of Butte; daughters and son-in-law, Diane of Clinton, Debbie and Michelle of Missoula, Sherri and Drew of Anchorage, Alaska, Jean of Tacoma, Wash., and Brenda of Minnesota; sons and daughters-in-law, Monty, Shawn, Shane, Dan and Kathy, all of Missoula, Dean and Stephanie of Wenatchee, Wash., Dallas of Lynnwood, Wash., and Dusty of Redmond, Wash.; brother and sisters, Clarence "Cy," Ethel and Marlene, all of Minnesota; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jim and June Walling of Lolo; 25 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and treasured friends.
Friends and relatives are asked to join the family for a funeral service on Tuesday at noon at the Duggan Dolan Mortuary Chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
