Early morning accident

Two Hamilton men were killed and a woman was severely injured after a one-vehicle accident early Sunday.

Timothy Marquardt, 31, and Joey Rodriquez, 39, died when the car they were riding in flipped on West Bridge Road, west of Hamilton, said Montana Highway Patrol Capt. Mike Frellick.

The driver of the car, Brandy Marquardt, 26, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, is in intensive care at Marcus Daly Hospital in Hamilton.

Timothy Marquardt and Brandy Marquardt are siblings.

The accident happened around 2 a.m. when Brandy Marquardt lost control of her 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse while driving west on West Bridge Road. The car drifted off the road into a borrow pit, hit a boulder, bounced and flipped back onto the road, landing on its roof, Frellick said.

The accident is still under investigation, but speed and alcohol were factors in the incident, Frellick said. None of the three people in the car was wearing a seat belt, he said.
