THOMPSON FALLS, Mont. — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is announcing and inviting the public to comment on a proposal that will install curve warning signs, radar-activated flashers, and delineation on about 7 miles of Montana Highway 200 (MT 200), northwest of Thompson Falls. The project begins at Faro Lane and extends south, ending near Gebhardt Lane.
Proposed work includes installing curve warning signs with radar-activated flashers, adding chevrons in curve sections, improving delineation, and clearing select vegetation. The purpose of the project is to improve safety in the curves between Guy Hall Road and Little Beaver Creek Road.
Construction is tentatively planned for 2029, depending on completion of design and availability of funds. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
Partnering with the community is an important part of properly planning for future projects. MDT welcomes the public to provide ideas and comments on the proposed project. Comments may be submitted online at mdt.mt.gov/contact/comment-form.aspx or in writing to Montana Department of Transportation, Missoula office, PO Box 7039, Missoula, MT 59807-7039. Please note that comments are for project UPN 9610000.
The public is encouraged to contact Missoula District Project Development Engineer Joel Boucher at 406-544-5802 or Project Engineer David Relph at 406-444-1280 with questions or comments about the project.
