TERRY AND MILES CITY, Mont. — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is announcing and inviting the public to comment on a proposal that will replace three bridges on about three miles of Old Highway 10 (Old US 10), between Terry and Miles City. The project begins northeast of the Diamond Ring Road intersection and extends northeast to the Prairie County line.
The purpose of the project is to replace existing structures with either a new bridge or culvert to meet current design standards.
Construction is tentatively planned for 2027 depending on completion of design and availability of funds. Traffic disruptions are anticipated in 2027 and 2028. MDT would like feedback on utilization of route closures and reducing the guardrail width on the bridges from 30 feet to 28 feet in this area.
Right-of-way acquisition or temporary construction permits will likely be required for this project. Utility relocations are not anticipated to be needed. Landowners may be contacted prior to construction regarding temporary construction permits and land acquisition.
Partnering with the community is an important part of properly planning for future projects. MDT welcomes the public to provide ideas and comments on the proposed project. Comments may be submitted online at mdt.mt.gov/contact/comment-form.aspx or in writing to Montana Department of Transportation, Glendive office, PO Box 890, Glendive, MT 59330-0890. Please note that comments are for project UPN 10633000.
The public is encouraged to contact Glendive District Engineering Project Manager Brett Harris at 406-345-8239 or Alternative Projects Engineer Brandon Graff at 406-444-2808 with questions or comments about the project.
